Installing the Manual Transfer Utility

To perform manual transfer replication, the Manual Transfer Utility (includes both the GUI and CLI versions) must be installed on the following:

• System (computer) with an iSCSI initiator and network access to the primary group to create the transfer files.
• System with an iSCSI initiator and network access to the secondary group to load the transfer files into the replica set.

You can obtain the Manual Transfer Utility from the Downloads area of the Technical Support website. Follow the installation instructions on the website.

Notes: If you are installing the Manual Transfer Utility on a UNIX or Linux operating system, the system must have Python 2.3 or later installed. You can download Python from the following website:

If you want to encrypt the volume data, both systems (at the primary and secondary group locations) also must have pyCrypto installed. You can download pyCrypto from the following website:
