OpenSSL 0.9.8.2400 for AIX 5.3 , AIX 6.1 and AIX 7.1 contains the latest version OpenSSL 0.9.8x.

Differences between the deprecated OpenSSL RPM and the OpenSSL installp package
1.The libraries libssl.a and libcrypto.a would be installed in /usr/lib path.
2.The header files will be installed in /usr/include/openssl.
3.The binaries openssl,openssl64 will be installed in /usr/bin.
4.The LICENSE,README will be installed in /usr/openssl.
5.The Openssl configuration file would be installed in /var/ssl path.
6.The Openssl tools would be made available in /var/ssl/misc.
7.The libcrypto.a would contain libcrypto.so.0.9.8 and libssl.a would contain libssl.so.0.9.8 shared libraries.
In addition,Libcrypto.a would contain 64-bit member libcrypto64.so.0.9.8, and libssl.a would contain 64-bit member 
libssl64.so.0.9.8.
8.The Openssl installp would contain the following filesets,
openssl.base - Mainly contains the libraries libcrypto.a,libssl.a, binaries openssl,openssl64,header files,LICENSE and README.
openssl.license - Contains the License files.
openssl.man - Contains the Man files.

IBM will provide support for OpenSSH in accordance with SWMA.

IMPORTANT: *If AIX OpenSSH is in use, it must be updated to OpenSSH 6.0.0.61xx version when updating to OpenSSL 0.9.8.2400.
* OpenSSL 0.9.8.2400 supports PKCS11.
