To Add a Server or Suffix Into an Existing Topology

1. Ensure that there are no suffixes with the status Not Replicated. If a suffix is not replicated, you must enable it in order for it to be part of the new topology.
2. Create a new server, as described in the procedure To Create a New Server.
3. Create a new suffix, as described in the procedure To Create, Delete, View, or Modify Suffixes.

   In the New Suffix wizard, ensure that the following requirements are met.

   • When entering the Suffix DN, use the same suffix name that is used in the existing replication topology.

   • When choosing the replication topology, choose Extend Existing Replication Topology.

4. Initialize the suffix.

   Click Directory Servers tab then Suffixes tab. Click a suffix name and select Initialize Suffix from Data from the drop-down menu.
