To Register a Server

If you created a Directory Server or Directory Proxy Server by using DSCC, the server is automatically registered in DSCC.

If you created a server by using the dsadm or dpadm commands, or if you have a server that is migrated from a previous version of Directory Server, then the server does not appear in the list of servers in the Directory Servers or Proxy Servers tabs. For the server to appear in the list, you must register the server.

Note - The machine the server is on must have the correct agent packages installed on it, and the common agent container must be running. For more information on commands for checking the common agent container, see the Oracle Fusion Middleware Installation Guide for Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition 11g Release 1 (11.1.1).

Earlier versions of the Directory Server and Directory Proxy Server must be migrated before you can register them.

• Click Directory Servers tab or Proxy Servers tab, then choose Register Existing Server from the drop-down menu.
