Most server management and configuration tasks are the same for Directory Server and Directory Proxy Server.

Some server management and configuration tasks are applicable for Directory Proxy Server only.
To configure Directory Proxy Server global client authentication settings, click Proxy Servers tab, a server name, Server Configuration tab, then Client Authentication tab. You can configure anonymous connections, certificate-based authentication, certificate identity mapping and user mapping. For more information about Directory Proxy Server client authentication, and connecting clients to Directory Proxy Server, see Oracle Fusion Middleware Reference for Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition 11g Release 1 (11.1.1).
To configure the administrative user (Proxy Manager), click Proxy Servers tab, a server name, Server Configuration tab, then Administration tab. For more information about the Proxy Manager, see the Oracle Fusion Middleware Administrator’s Guide for Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition.
To configure Directory Proxy Server administrative alerts, click Proxy Servers tab, a server name, Server Configuration tab, then Administration tab. You can configure various aspects of the alerts, including whether the alert triggers an email, a script, a syslog alert, or a combination. For more information about configuring monitoring alerts for Directory Proxy Server, see the Oracle Fusion Middleware Reference for Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition 11g Release 1 (11.1.1).
