Setting Up a Web Server

The following steps provide the common tasks of setting up a web server using the web based administration console.

ProcedureSteps to Set Up a Web Server

  1. Create a new configuration. See Creating Server Configuration. This action creates a new configuration, a new HTTP listener and a new virtual server.

  2. Deploy the created configuration. See Deploying Server Configuration. This action, deploys the new configuration to an existing node. The instance of the configuration deployed on the node is a fully configured Web Server.

  3. Start the instance. See Start Server Instances. This action starts the deployed instance. You can now access the web server at the port specified when you created the HTTP listener.

Note - There can be only one instance of a configuration running on a node. And all the instances of a configuration will have the same name.
