Delegating a Domain Administrator

The global administrator can create domain administrators who can create and maintain accounts, aliases, distribution lists, and resources on a specific domain.

A domain administrator must have an account on the domain they administer. You can assign the domain default COS to the domain administrator's account or you can configure the domain administrator's account to have different features and attributes.

How to set up a Domain Administrator Account

  1. Create a Class of Service (COS) with the features and attributes that the accounts on the domain should be assigned.

  2. In the navigation pane, click Domains, and select the domain to be assigned a domain administrator account.

  3. In the General tab, assign this COS to the domain. All accounts the domain administrator creates on the domain after the COS is assigned are assigned this COS. The global administrator can change an account's features and attributes either by assigning a different COS to the account or by modifying the account Features, Preferences and Advance tabs.

  4. Create the domain administrator account.
