Command Types

There are three types of CLI commands:

• Group management commands. Enable you to manage a group. When you enter group management commands, you can specify subcommands, parameters, and variables as needed.

• Array management commands. Enable you to perform maintenance tasks on a specific array (for example, updating array firmware). To run these commands, you must use a direct serial connection to the array or connect to an IP address assigned to a network interface on the array.

• Global commands. Can be executed from any level in the CLI to control CLI behavior.
