Securing GUI Access

To secure communication between your Web browser and the group, select the checkbox next to Encrypt communication in the Group Manager Login dialog box (Figure 1: Group Manager Login).

If the checkbox is grayed out, you must download and install the latest version of the Java™ Runtime Environment (JRE) to take advantage of Java security features. To download and install the Java plug-in, go to the www.java.com website. Encrypted communications are supported on Java Runtime Environment 1.4 and higher versions.

To require encryption between the Web browser and the group, you must also click:

Group Configuration > Administration tab

In the Group Administration window that appears (Figure 4: Group Administration ), select Allow only secure connections.
