Modifying the Group Network Configuration

To modify the group network configuration, including the group name, IP address, location, and description, click:

Group Configuration > General tab

The Group General window appears (Figure 2: Group General). In the General Settings panel, you can modify the following fields:

• Group Name – Name used to identify a group for administrative purposes and for volume replication. See Table 2: Member Configuration for group name requirements.
• Group IP address – Network address used for group administration (GUI and CLI) and for host access to volumes. Be sure to follow the network requirements described in Table 1: Network Requirements and Recommendations.

Note: Modifying the group IP address will disconnect current group administration and iSCSI connections to the group. You must inform administrators and hosts of the new group IP address.

• Location – Location (physical) of the group. A location is optional.
• Description – Description of the group. A description is optional.

Caution: If you modify the group name or IP address and the group is configured as a replication partner on another group, be sure to log in to the other group and make the reciprocal name or IP address change. Replication will fail if the partner information is incorrect. See Configuring Replication Partners for information.
